Residents in Padstow, New South Wales, are being told to prepare for a mix of heavy rain and extreme sun levels from Wednesday, 25 February, to Sunday, 1 March, 2026. The week will be defined by changing conditions that include both high temperatures and the risk of sudden downpours.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, temperatures will reach 30 degrees on Wednesday before a risk of late thunderstorms and a cooler maximum of 24 degrees on Thursday. There is an 80 per cent chance of rain on Thursday, with as much as 20 millimetres of water possible during the day.

Even though the forecast shows plenty of cloud, sun protection is recommended between 9:20 am and 4:50 pm as sun radiation levels are predicted to reach an extreme rating of 11. This high sun risk means outdoor workers and members of the Padstow United Sports Club should take extra care even when it is raining.

The NSW State Emergency Service monitors local areas like the Padstow Stormwater Catchment, which can experience flash flooding during heavy bursts of rain. The chance of showers is expected to continue through the weekend until Sunday, 1 March, 2026, potentially impacting local outdoor sports and community events.
