The NSW Government opened the new TAFE NSW Bankstown City campus on 19 February 2026, offering residents of Macquarie Fields, New South Wales, better access to modern training facilities. The new campus is located in the Bankstown CBD and is part of a 100 million dollar plan to improve vocational education in the region.

This move from the previous location on Chapel Road allows for the construction of a new 2 billion dollar hospital on the former TAFE site. Hindmarsh Construction Australia has been hired to start clearing the old site to prepare for the hospital project, which will be the largest health infrastructure build in the state.

The new TAFE campus is co-located with Western Sydney University and includes realistic work spaces like digital studios and beauty therapy rooms. These facilities are designed to give students practical experience that leads directly into local jobs and apprenticeships.

Locals from Macquarie Fields will also benefit from a 30 million dollar upgrade to the TAFE NSW Padstow campus and the local Macquarie Fields Suburban Study Hub. Travel to these training sites is expected to be easier once the Macquarie Fields Station upgrade is finished in late 2026.
