The Queensland Police Service has charged two boys following an investigation into several house break-ins and stolen cars across Laidley, Queensland. The arrests follow a series of property crimes reported across the Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba regions.
On 16 February, 2026, police confirmed that a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old were charged after multiple incidents. The investigation focused on activities that took place on and around 13 February, 2026.
Officers from the Darling Downs District reported that the two boys allegedly entered a property on McCleverty Court around 4.30pm on 13 February. It is alleged one of the boys stole car keys from inside the home and attempted to flee in a 2022 Jeep Gladiator before being stopped by a resident.
Police are now asking residents throughout the region to stay alert and report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods. Anyone with information or tips that could help with the investigation is encouraged to contact the police.
