The Goulburn Mulwaree Council will begin road repairs and build new walking paths on Goldsmith Street in Goulburn, New South Wales, starting on 2 February 2026 to improve safety near the local hospital. The construction project is expected to run for several weeks, with a current expected completion in late February 2026.

Work will focus on the sections of Goldsmith Street between Bourke and Faithfull Streets, which will lead to traffic detours and changes to local street parking. Most construction will take place during the day (typically 7:00 AM–5:00 PM); however, some night works may be required to minimise disruption to the hospital’s Emergency Department.

According to the Southern NSW Local Health District, emergency patients should continue to use the existing Emergency Department entrance located off Goldsmith Street. The district says ambulance and outpatient access will be maintained throughout the construction period, though drivers and visitors should follow posted detours and signage.

The project includes laying new road surfaces and completing a shared path for walkers and cyclists around the hospital block. These upgrades are designed to connect the medical precinct to the wider city shared-path network and follow the major $165 million hospital redevelopment completed in 2022.
