Families in Somerset are invited to take part in free holiday activities running at local libraries through 17 April 2026. The Somerset Regional Council is hosting the ECO Heroes: Guardians of the Earth program at its branches in Esk, Kilcoy, Lowood, and Toogoolawah.

The daily sessions run from 10am to 4pm and focus on themes of recycling and upcycling. These activities are open to all ages, though children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No bookings are required for families wishing to attend.

Residents should be aware that the Toogoolawah Library has some specific closures during the week. It is closed on Mondays from 12.30pm to 5pm and on Wednesdays from 8.30am to 1pm.

The Somerset Libraries network, which supports residents across the region, continues to be a popular community resource. In the 2024-2025 period, the libraries recorded 83,000 visits and 52,000 loans. The branches offer access to a collection of 47,000 items, supplemented by a digital library and the Somerset On The Go app.

Beyond the library programs, the council is offering other community events this April, including Youth Week activities at the Fernvale Indoor Sports Centre. For more information on any of these events, residents can contact the Somerset Regional Council directly.
