Residents in Woolgoolga can look forward to the return of their local library services in late April 2026, as the branch prepares to reopen following an extensive refurbishment. The library, located at 3 Ganderton Street, has been closed since 3 January 2026 to allow for significant upgrades to the building.
The project was made possible by a $150,000 grant from the State Library of NSW. While the library was originally expected to welcome visitors back in March, the timeline for the improvements has been extended to late April to ensure the work is completed.
To support the community during this time, the City of Coffs Harbour council set up temporary service points. Residents have been able to collect reserved items at the Wiigulga Sports Complex on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1pm until 3pm.
Additionally, computer access, printing services, and Justice of the Peace services were relocated to the Woolgoolga Neighbourhood Centre at 35 Beach Street. These services have remained available at the centre Monday to Friday, between 9am and 3pm, throughout the refurbishment period.
Once the library reopens, it will return to its usual operating hours of Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, and Saturday from 10am to 12pm.
