The City of Coffs Harbour Council has confirmed that construction will soon start on a new $1.07 million playground at Park Beach Reserve in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. This project follows a decision on 26 February 2026 to appoint a company to build the high-profile community space after a successful public design vote.

The company Forpark has been selected to build the site, featuring a design concept named ‘Adventure Cove’. This specific design was the most popular choice among residents, receiving 46 per cent of the total votes during a community consultation process held to decide the look of the park.

To ensure work begins within the current financial year, the council has moved forward $240,000 from its 2026-27 budget. The contract for the design, supply, and installation of the new facility was awarded for $1,071,306 (excluding GST), and it is intended to provide a modern, multi-dimensional space for local families to enjoy.

The new equipment will replace older facilities at the reserve that have reached the end of their useful life. Once finished, Adventure Cove is expected to serve as a major destination attraction for both local residents and visitors to the region.
