Coffs Harbour, NSW — A vibrant new exhibition featuring intricate LEGO creations is captivating visitors at Yarrila Arts and Museum (YAM) after opening on Saturday, 28 March 2026. ‘RELICS: A New World Rises’ showcases the work of LEGO Masters Australia Season 2 winners Jackson Harvey and Alex Towler, who have built miniature civilisations inside discarded vintage objects.

The exhibition, created by the Perth-based duo, transforms everyday items like a VW Beetle, refrigerator, and typewriter into detailed LEGO dioramas. These works tell the story of a post-human world in the year 2130, blending creativity with themes of renewal and sustainability.

‘RELICS’ has already broken attendance records at the South Australian Museum, becoming the most successful ticketed show in its 167-year history, and has toured to major institutions including the Australian Museum in Sydney. It is now making its regional debut in Coffs Harbour. The exhibition will run until Sunday, 19 July 2026, offering locals a chance to experience a world-renowned art experience without leaving the coast.

Tickets are available for purchase, with prices set at $21 for adults, $13 for children aged 4-16, and $15 for concession holders. Family passes for two adults and two children are priced at $55, while children under three can enter for free. The exhibition also includes free opening day activities, such as scavenger hunts, LEGO challenges, and a special welcome ceremony with Mayor Nikki Williams, who joined the creators at 9:30am.

Beyond the displays, visitors can participate in workshops, including the ‘STEAM Challenge: Future Makers Lab’ for ages 8-14 ($10) and ‘Print Your Own LEGO Minifigure Tote Bag’ workshop for ages 10-16 ($30). A free augmented reality game, developed in partnership with the Coffs Coast Explorer app, will also allow players to collect LEGO minifigures scattered across the region.

YAM, which opened in September 2023 as part of the Yarrila Place cultural hub, continues to establish itself as a key destination for arts and culture on the Mid North Coast. The venue has previously hosted major exhibitions, including teamLab, and will host the Archibald Prize regional tour later in 2026.
