The City of Coffs Harbour has officially removed the dangerous surf warning for local beaches following an improvement in coastal conditions this April 2026. Residents and visitors are no longer advised to take extra precautions, as current reports indicate manageable wave heights of two to three feet accompanied by fine, sunny weather.

While the formal warning has been lifted, the City of Coffs Harbour reminds beachgoers that safety remains a priority. Swimmers are encouraged to always stay within the red and yellow flags at patrolled locations to ensure they remain in areas monitored by professionals.

Park Beach remains the region’s primary surf beach and continues to be patrolled seven days a week year-round. Outside of the summer season, the Coffs Harbour Lifeguard Service provides daily coverage. During the busier summer months, this professional service works in partnership with the Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club, which manages weekend and public holiday patrols.

The Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club, located at 23 Surf Club Road, has been a staple of the local community since 1923. Park Beach itself spans approximately 1.8 kilometres and serves as the most popular patrolled beach in the area for residents and visitors alike.
