Mayor Nikki Williams has shared a summary of the first 2026 meeting for the City of Coffs Harbour in New South Wales, highlighting new construction starts and upcoming plans for local spending. The meeting, held on 29 January 2026, focused on the start of the Legacy Bob Denner Centre and inviting residents to help decide on future neighbourhood projects.

A ceremonial sod‑turning marked the start of work on the Legacy Bob Denner Centre, a project named in honour of the late Bob Denner, a Vietnam veteran and long‑time local mentor. According to the City of Coffs Harbour, the centre will serve as a hub for veteran services on the Coffs Coast; Legacy, the veteran support organisation partnering on the project, currently supports more than 600 widows and dependents in the region.

The council is also looking for feedback on how to spend money on environment and infrastructure projects through its Have Your Say website. Mayor Nikki Williams said she wants to hear directly from residents before the 2026–2027 budget is finalised to ensure the money goes where it is needed most.

The update mentioned that the focus for the year will be on smaller neighbourhood improvements to balance out larger construction projects happening in the region. Residents are encouraged to provide their input on where these improvements, such as park upgrades or road repairs, should happen in their specific suburbs.
