The City of Coffs Harbour in New South Wales is inviting local artists and community groups to apply for funding to help get new creative projects off the ground. Applications open Monday 2 February 2026 at 10:00 AM via the City’s online grant portal, with grants available between $1,000 and $7,000 for each successful project.
The program is open to individual artists, community groups, and not-for-profit cultural organisations that plan to run their activities within the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area. Applicants do not have to be residents of the Coffs Harbour LGA, provided the project is delivered within the LGA. The grants support a variety of initiatives, such as music performances, art exhibitions, and theatre shows that bring residents together.
Council is seeking projects that align with its Creative Coffs Cultural Strategic Plan, which aims to make the region more vibrant and inclusive. Previous projects supported by the City include Shifting Skins, the memoir of Aunty Bea Ballangarry, and an “Access for all” project providing Auslan interpreting for community musical theatre.
For those who need help with their applications, an information session will be held on Wednesday 25 February 2026 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Make Space, Level 2, Yarrila Place, Coffs Harbour. Cultural Development staff will be on hand to provide advice on developing projects and preparing strong applications.
Applications are assessed by an evaluation panel consisting of at least three relevant City staff. Submissions are rated on eligibility; the merit of the project (including consideration of social, economic and environmental factors); the applicant’s ability to manage the project; the selection criteria; and available funds. The panel’s recommendations are presented for Council approval. Interested applicants should submit their details through the City’s grant portal when it opens on 2 February 2026 at 10:00 AM.
