BATS Theatre Company Inc. (Buderim) is mounting a new comedy-mystery, Deadline, by playwright Don Zolidis, at the Buderim War Memorial Hall in Buderim, Queensland, scheduled for Friday 6th March to Sunday 15th March 2026.
The production is directed by Alex Meloni and features the script Deadline by contemporary playwright Don Zolidis.
BATS and the Buderim War Memorial Hall commonly present shows in a cabaret-style format with table seating. BWMCA event listings for recent BATS productions note ‘Cabaret Style Table Seating’ and ‘BYO nibbles,’ and previous events have listed the Belfry Bar and Kitchen as open for drinks and refreshments. Confirm with BATS or the venue whether those arrangements will apply to this season.
The play follows eight mystery writers who are invited to a remote island mansion to solve a murder. Publisher and author descriptions describe Deadline as a full-length comedy/murder-mystery about writers trying to survive the titular ‘deadline.’
BATS is a long-running, volunteer-run community theatre group that the Buderim War Memorial Community Association cites as having been founded in 1924. The upcoming season offers residents a casual, close-to-home night out while supporting local arts and culture.
