The Buderim Rebels Hockey Club is starting a new weekly junior hockey program on 12 February 2026 at the Ballinger Sports Complex in Buderim, Queensland. This program is designed to give local children regular coaching and game practice throughout the full winter season instead of just one-off sessions.

The sessions are open to beginners and children who are still learning the game, and the program will run every week until 21 August 2026. The club will hold special introductory days on Wednesday 11 February and Wednesday 18 February from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm so new players can try the sport and meet their future teammates.

All training and matches will be held at the Sunshine Coast Hockey Association venue at Ballinger Park. Parents are required to register their children and make an initial payment for insurance and association fees before they can start playing, as stated on the Buderim Rebels Hockey Club website.

The program follows the Hookin2Hockey model, which is a national starter program created by Hockey Australia. By offering weekly sessions all season, the club aims to provide a steady path for kids to grow their skills and eventually join regular club teams.
